Discord is a communication platform that allows users to chat, share text, images, and voice messages. Discord also offers a variety of tools for moderators to manage their servers, including server roles, permissions, and bans. However, there is a Discord staff position known as “owner” that trumps the moderator role. Server owners have the final say in all matters relating to the server, including who can be a member and what content can be shared. As such, Discord owners are often the ultimate authority on their servers. However, this isn’t to say that Discord moderators are powerless. Moderators still have a lot of control over server activity and can enforce the rules set by the owner. Additionally, Discord moderators can also help to mediates disputes between members.
