Discord is a communication platform that allows users to chat in real time. Discord moderators are responsible for managing the Discord server and ensuring that conversations are respectful and on topic. Part of a moderator’s job is to delete messages that are inappropriate or break the Discord terms of service. Discord moderators have the ability to delete any message on the platform, regardless of who posted it. This includes messages that were posted by the moderator themselves. Moderators can also choose to delete all messages from a specific user, or they can delete all messages in a specific channel. Discord does not currently offer a way to undelete messages, so once a message is deleted, it is gone for good. As a result, moderators must be very careful when using the delete function.
